Rumor: Kate Mara Screen Tested for 2016 Stand Alone Film

We heard earlier this week that screen testing had begun on the 2016 Star Wars stand alone film, directed by Gareth Edwards, and that Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black), Rooney Mara (Girl With the Dragon Tatoo), and Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) were all screen testing for the film.  Now a fourth name has been added to the list, Kate Mara (House of Cards, Fantastic Four).  Variety's Justin Kroll tweeted out the following,

Cinema Blend also suggests that it's quite likely that Kate Mara is like auditioning for the same role as her sister Rooney, due to their closeness in age.  Disney and Lucasfilm has declined to comment on the rumors.  With filming set to begin in the not too distant future, we'll likely get an announcement about the cast pretty soon.

As always this is just a rumor until confirmed or denied by Lucasfilm or Disney.
