Christie Golden, author of the upcoming novel Star Wars: Dark Disciple made a small revelation on Twitter yesterday.  It had been assumed by many (myself included) that the novel was based on four unproduced Scripts from Star Wars: The Clone Wars, the Emmy award winning animated series that was cancelled before it had finished telling all its stories.  However, Golden clarified this stating that Dark Disciple is in fact based on eight scripts from The Clone Wars.
What's interesting about this is that it seems the novel will tell a story that would have played out over two arcs on the TV series (episode arcs on The Clone Wars were typically four episodes long).  This opens up a lot of interesting questions about what could go down in the novel.  Usually the arcs told a self contained story that was also part of a biggerstory point on the series involving a character, faction, or planet, and often featured sizable time gaps between arcs.  It will be interesting to see how Golden puts two arcs together to create one cohesive story.

Star Wars: Dark Disciple hits shelves on July 7th, 2015, read the preview synopsis here.
