The future of Star Wars is being well represented at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim! Lucasfilm announced today that the directors of the first two Star Wars Stand Alone Films, Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank, will be in attendance at the official Lucasfilm convention next month. They will be appearing on stage on Sunday at 11:00am on the Celebration Stage, along side Lucasfilm story group members Kiri Hart and Pablo Hidalgo and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy.
Kathleen Kennedy, Kiri Hart and Pablo Hidalgo will be joined by directors Gareth Edwards and Josh Trank, who will share their experiences as the newest members of the Lucasfilm creative family. Learn how the teams came together and are collaborating to conceive and create the upcoming stand-alone films in the galaxy far, far away.
I'm very pleased to see that the stand alone films will be represented at Celebration, especially since it's the only time this summer that Disney can promote Edwards' film Rogue One. Hopefully this will be the place where we get some cool announcements about the film (like the rest of the cast). I wouldn't expect to learn too much about Trank's film, seeing as it's still three years away. But would it be too early to expect a title announcement (probably) or an official release date (maybe)?
Star Wars Celebration Anaheim takes place April 16th-19th at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Get your tickets here.
