With Force Friday right around the corner, and all the The Force Awakensmerchandise leaks we've seen recently, we've been wondering when we will get an official reveal of everything that we'll be seeing in stores on September 4th. Luckily, Lucasfilm has just revealed all the details on a huge event that they describe as a "New Year’s Eve style celebration" that is set to pull the curtain back on all the Episode VII goodies we're anticipating and lead directly into the Force Friday festivities.
StarWars.com has announced that Lucasfilm and Disney have partnered with Maker Studios to host a live global unboxing event that will begin on September 2nd and will take place over 18 hours, ending just before stores open making all the items available to buy. The event will be streamed on the official Star Wars YouTube channel and will be hosted by an assortment of personalities from 15 different cities and 12 countries. The hosts will consist of a variety of YouTubers such as EvanTubeHD, AlexBy11 and Chris Pirillo who are know for their toy unboxing videos, gaming and more.
Several of the reveals will take place at the YouTube spaces in several locations across the world and the stream itself will be hosted by Andi Gutierrez and Anthony Carboni from the YouTube space in Los Angeles, California. In addition, they released a short video featuring the biggest Star Wars collector of them all, Steve Sansweet, among others, discussing Force Friday:
Many stores worldwide are set to take part in the celebration, including select Disney Stores. Lucasfilm encourages fans taking part to use the hashtag #ForceFriday when posting on social media about their experiences.
