Yesterday at New York Comic Con a collection of some of the biggest names in Star Wars publishing assembled at a panel to discuss current and upcoming works. In addition, we were also treated to a few announcements, one of which is that a major character from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is getting their own novel.
It was revealed that a new Jyn Erso young adult novel is on the way, and will be released next year. We previously heard about this book via a leak that surfaced a couple months back that revealed some preliminary cover art(seen above), as well a release date on May 2nd, 2017.
Additionally, while it wasn't mentioned at the panel, author Beth Revis(above) announced on her blog that she will be writing the still untitled novel. I highly recommend reading her announcement, which includes Revis discussing her early Star Wars fandom and her reaction to getting the job.
